I Offer You This Dance
To make a disco ball,
One must first shatter the glass.
When the world is bleak and dark,
Find the time to dance
With your loved ones,
Your friends,
Yourself.
When the ardent moment strikes,
Release your fervency!
Movement will set you free!
A broken mirror is nothing
But a disco ball
Waiting to be arranged.
Picked enough glass out of my fingers
To know certain things might not heal,
But a person can and will,
And has the power to change
What was once considered broken.
Vibrant hues,
Like gems and jewels,
Shift and shimmer,
Their meaning mutable,
Dependent on the stage they grace.
A radiant yellow,
Once a beacon of joy,
Can morph into a harbinger of caution,
A stark reminder of danger
Lurking beneath the surface.
Is the vibrancy of a color
The euphoria of a festival
Or the onset
Of a tempestuous migraine?
Flight or fight,
Two sides of the same intense coin.
Yet, the world,
A kaleidoscope of hues,
Offers a myriad of responses.
To channel this energy into creation,
Is that not the essence of art?
To paint,
To dance within the oils,
A silent ballet of strokes and colors.
Traversing the rivers of pigment,
Scaling the peaks of impasto,
The mind a symphony
Of rhythm and hue.
When the brush is stilled,
The dance continues.
In sorrow and joy,
pain and ecstasy,
Move.
Dance through life,
a living canvas,
surrounded by the vibrant
tapestry of existence.
Dance until the ache
in the body subsides,
until the troubles fade
into the background,
left with the simple,
profound truth of being alive.
To breathe,
To feel,
To create.
